Description
I've been thinking about the Elementals contest since I first saw the journal. I wanted to do something with fire from the first. This is the third or fourth model that I've cut out with the intention of entering the contest. I finally received my inspiration two days ago. I had an idea for her hair and when I saw this model I knew exactly where I wanted to go with the image. Some of the inspiration may have come from that I've just finished Gena Showalter's novel: Burning Dawn in which the female character was half-phoenix. In the book, they are called fire-breathers and the 'grave-challenged' because they continuously rise from their own ashes after death, thus the title "What is Risen."
Over all, I am extremely pleased with how the image turned out and I hope that you enjoy it as much as I do.

I see the published date of this as August 24, 2014. I just found your image a few months back and was immediately drawn to it. I am obsessed with the phoenix and have an unfinished tribal phoenix tattoo on my back. I went through a difficult period in my life a few months back. To make a long story short I came across your image online, around this time and fell in love with it! Now that I know it was created by you I am going to credit you. I apologize again.
